I was born in Ottawa but grew up in several different parts of the world, my father being a career diplomat for the Canadian government. My post secondary studies were in the field of architecture, hence the architectural theme in a lot of my work. I’ve worked in architectural offices in Ottawa and Vancouver for the past 40 years. I’ve always sketched and dabbled in acrylic and oil paints but didn’t feel comfortable until I took a watercolour course at Emily Carr several years ago. My wife is from Croatia and we have traveled extensively in that region over the last few years. This has inspired a lot of my recent work.
